Read about my experiences that led me to found CarePoint
I am Sally Murtagh, the Founder and Managing Director of CarePoint. Having founded CarePoint, many people ask me why I did it. Having worked as a Care Assistant for several years, I founded Irish HomeCare in Ireland. I noticed there was an opportunity to create a new Home Care company in Northern Ireland, that would provide excellent services and offer top quality training. That said, my sister, Anne McShane and I recognised the opportunity to open a home care company and so went about doing so.
In 2016, CarePoint was officially launched and we haven’t looked back since. Over the last year, we have provided top-quality care to hundreds of clients and delivered award-winning training to both skilled & unskilled Care Assistants, through our sister company Carepath Training (www.carepathtraining.com).
Together, Anne and I started out as carers and at heart, we still put the care of the individual first, before any business is done. After all, we are in the business of Care and understand that you, the client, comes first. When we find it hard to make decisions, we ask ourselves what is best for the client in this situation?
Furthermore, we encourage clients to give us feedback as we are always seeking to improve and want to provide you with the best service possible, ensuring you are not only satisfied with your service but that it surpasses all your expectations.
When speaking with clients, Carers and people in general, I get asked the same 2 questions over and over; Why I became a Carer and what do I enjoy most about my job? It’s simple:
Why I became a Carer.
“In the beginning I saw it as a good job to raise my family. Also, I was able to be there at breakfast time and homework time for my children. In addition, I enjoyed the flexibility and the social interaction in my community. I soon came to appreciate how wonderful it is that senior people remain in their community as long as possible. It made me feel as if this work was really important on so many levels”.
What I enjoy most about my job.
“What I enjoy most is working with amazing people who genuinely love the people they care for. There is no doubt that this is a challenging profession but I find it very personally fulfilling”.
So there you have it, why I became a Carer and why my sister and I formulated CarePoint. If you have any questions, queries or suggestions, we encourage you to get in touch. Email email@example.com or call 028 3753 9463.
